One of Ireland’s most delightful gardening festivals gets under way in Galway next week

One of Ireland’s most delightful gardening festivals gets under way in Galway next week, with top-level speakers and superb plants from Ireland’s finest growers on display.

On the programme at the fifth annual Galway Garden Festival this year is a packed programme of speakers including some internationally renowned experts: last year’s lineup included celebrated Dublin gardener Helen Dillon and Carl Wright, the creator of the magical Caher Bridge garden in Co. Clare.

Ireland’s best nurseries are on hand to share a wealth of planting experience and advice. Make the most of their expertise and fill your notebook with new plants to try and colour combinations for the garden – we’ll be happy to help you recreate them from our well-stocked plant benches here at the garden centre in Co. Limerick.

There’s a variety of food and drink in the Artisan Food and Crafts arena as well as live music and plenty of activities to keep the kids happy, from pony rides to children’s entertainers. And all this happens against the spectacular backdrop of the 15th century Claregalway Castle, open to visitors throughout the event.

The Galway Garden Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday July 1st and 2nd. For details visit www.galwaygardenfestival.com.
